We are asking for the creation of a dedicated electoral district for the diaspora, with reserved seats in Parliament. This would give Albanians abroad a direct voice in decision-making. This is not a privilege. It is democratic representation.

We didn't leave because we wanted to.
Albania is losing its people. Whole families have left because of low wages, corruption, weak public services, and a lack of trust in institutions. Those who stay face inadequate pensions, poor healthcare, and an economy where too many opportunities are controlled by a few. Meanwhile, public land and important stretches of the coast are increasingly handed to closed-off projects, far from the reach of ordinary citizens. When people protest and demand accountability, they are too often met with contempt, labels, and pressure.
We are the third of Albania that went abroad. We still carry it with us, we still fund it, and most of us still have the right to vote in it. A moment's anger can fade; an organized community — with names, contacts, and a clear demand — does not fade easily. One demand. One plan. The discipline to see it through. That is how the diaspora stops being a spectator and becomes a participant.

Is Shqipëria Bashkuar a political party?
No. Shqipëria Bashkuar is a nonpartisan civic initiative. We don't back any party or candidate. Our demand is the creation of a dedicated electoral district for the diaspora, with direct representation in Parliament.
Is this interference from abroad?
No — and the reform we are asking for reduces the diaspora's influence over domestic races rather than increasing it. Today every ballot cast from abroad is counted inside the home district the voter left, helping decide seats in places they no longer live. A dedicated diaspora district takes those votes out of the twelve domestic races and into a small number of seats of the diaspora's own. We are not asking to govern Albania from abroad — only for a defined number of seats accountable to Albanians abroad, and for our votes to stop landing in races that are not ours.
Do I have to be an Albanian citizen to join?
No. Anyone who supports our mission can join the initiative. However, only Albanian citizens can vote in Albania's elections. That is why we ask about citizenship — so we can understand how many of our supporters are also potential voters.

Won't this fade like so many other protests?
